Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla stated this Tuesday that the island’s government, with the support of its people, will remain steadfast in defending the Revolution, independence, and national sovereignty.

His remarks, published on the social media platform X, come in response to recent tensions with the United States and statements by U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who expressed his intention to visit Cuba under conditions unacceptable to Havana.

Rodríguez Parrilla recalled that since the triumph of the Revolution in 1959, Cuba has faced hostility from 13 U.S. presidents and countless Secretaries of State.

“We have endured 13 U.S. presidents and lost count of the Secretaries of State,” the Foreign Minister wrote, emphasizing the persistence of U.S. policies of interference and regime change.

Regarding Marco Rubio, the Cuban minister was unequivocal: “He will be left wanting. He will not get to know Cuba, a country about which he knows absolutely nothing. He was not invited.” These words reflect the Cuban government’s rejection of any dialogue conditioned by external interests seeking to undermine its political system.

Johana Tablada, Deputy Director General for the United States at Cuba’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MINREX), also addressed the issue on her Facebook profile.
The diplomat strongly criticized Rubio, accusing him of distorting the reality of Cuba and being more committed to special interest groups that promote economic warfare and hatred toward the island than to the true interests of his own country.

“Marco Rubio never tells the truth. When it comes to Cuba, even less so. He says he doesn’t want to come until the ‘regime’ is toppled, that he would only come to impose the removal of the government. He knows he cannot come to Cuba,” Tablada stated. She also pointed out that pressure and confrontation policies have historically proven to be a failure, achieving none of their goals over more than six decades.

The statements by both Cuban officials come amid growing tensions between the two countries, with Havana reiterating its stance of not yielding to external pressure.

The Cuban government insists that any dialogue with the United States must be based on mutual respect and non-interference in internal affairs.

With its people mobilized in defense of their sovereignty, Cuba remains firm on its path, rejecting regime-change agendas and reaffirming its right to determine its own future without foreign impositions.
